About The Position

This role coordinates patient care with the physician, assists with assessments, administers medications as ordered, and supports administrative duties to facilitate patient care. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

Requirements

  • High school degree required
  • CMA certificate required
  • At least one year of experience in clinical assisting
  • Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
  • Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
  • Good communication skills
  • Neat, professional appearance

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms.
  • Prepare patients for examinations or treatments and take vital signs.
  • Assist the physician as requested.
  • Perform Spirometry and other ordered breathing tests.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  • Provide patient education when appropriate.
  • Complete appropriate documentation in patients' medical records.
  • Call in prescriptions as ordered by the physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Perform allergy prick testing and/or intradermal testing as ordered by the physician.
  • Administer allergy injections to patients according to a physician-approved schedule.
  • Monitor patients' medical status for adverse reactions following allergy injections.
  • Maintain emergency equipment, including oxygen, code kit, and suction.
  • Answer patient-related telephone calls and respond according to clinical protocol.
  • Follow up to obtain referrals and insurance authorization as requested and needed.
  • Maintain clinical supply stock and medication samples.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of practice management and other relevant software.
  • Attend required training programs (CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, OIG).
  • Attend all regular meetings.
  • Perform all other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager.
  • Complete all assigned AP training within designated timeframes.
  • Comply with Allergy Partners and respective hub/department policies and report policy violations.
