About The Position

Integrated Health Centers of WV's St. Marys Primary Care location is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join their team. The role involves welcoming and rooming patients, preparing them for examinations, assisting providers, administering medications and injections, performing point-of-care testing, maintaining examination rooms, educating patients, documenting information in the electronic health record, coordinating referrals, and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Current Medical Assistant certification or registration
CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
A team player with strong communication skills and a heart for primary care
Someone who thrives in a community health care setting

Responsibilities

Welcome and room patients while obtaining vital signs and health histories
Prepare patients for examination and treatment
Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and other delegated clinical duties within scope of practice
Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, supplies, and equipment
Educate patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up instructions
Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record
Coordinate referrals and assist with continuity of care activities
Support quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
