About The Position

InfuCare Rx is a leading home infusion provider accredited by URAC and ACHC offering a specialized approach to caring for patients in need of IV therapy and specialty pharmacy services in the homecare setting. The Nursing Documents Certified Medical Assistant functions as a clinical staff member of the nursing documents team, within an infusion pharmacy office setting. Responsible for sending referrals, coordination of care, communication regarding patients, checking clinical documents for accuracy and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current medical assistant certification in good standing.
• Practical knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements and knowledge of ACHC regulations as it applies to infusion home care is essential.
• Must have strong organizational skills and liaison capabilities with well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 2 years related experience is preferred.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a home care setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of insurance industry requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communication with case managers, nurse coordinators and contracted agencies
• Verifying documents for accuracy
• Knowledge of home infusion care provided to patients with acute and chronic diseases.
• Knowledge of IV access devices, patient assessments, multidisciplinary care planning
• Patient education, IV medication administration, laboratory values and ongoing clinical patient monitoring.
• Fosters new and existing relationships and maintains contact with other industry healthcare professionals for educational purposes and potential partnerships.
• Identifies patient and caregiver home infusion care appropriateness.
• Remains current on new therapies, industry trends, and accreditation standards for home infusion services.
• Performs other duties as assigned
