About The Position

As a Certified Medical Assistant for Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists, your role will be crucial in providing high-quality care to our patients. This position will be based in one of our multiple locations, including Warrington, Doylestown, or Langhorne, PA. Your responsibilities include medical administrative support, patient care, and vital sign monitoring. Your expertise in dermatology, hospital medicine, and urgent care, along with your experience in physiology, EHR systems, and hospital settings, will contribute to delivering high-quality care. You will also handle patient intake and medical terminology and ensure accurate documentation to support healthcare professionals and ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to help others. Additionally, candidates must be certified as a Medical Assistant and have a solid understanding of medical terminology and procedures. Position Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for supporting physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering high-quality patient care within a fast-paced orthopedic practice environment. This role assists with patient intake, rooming, clinical documentation, basic procedures, and overall patient flow to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience. The CMA works closely with providers, clinical staff, and patients to prepare patients for examination and treatment while maintaining accurate medical records and supporting daily clinical operations. This position plays an important role in maintaining smooth office workflows, patient communication, exam room readiness, and compliance with healthcare and safety standards.

Requirements

Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or CCMA) certification required.
Working knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and EHR systems.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or CCMA) certification required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a physician practice or orthopedic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history, medications, and chief complaints in the EHR system.
Room patients efficiently and assist providers with patient flow throughout the day.
Support physicians and physician assistants during examinations, procedures, injections, casting preparation, suture removal, and other clinical activities.
Accurately document patient information, provider instructions, and clinical updates within the electronic medical record system.
Assist with medication refill requests, prior authorizations, and pre-certification processes as directed by providers.
Educate patients on treatment instructions, durable medical equipment (DME), post-visit care, and follow-up information.
Maintain exam rooms, clinical workspaces, and medical equipment to ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness for patient care.
Stock and monitor medical and office supplies, including bandages, casting materials, syringes, needles, and patient education materials.
Support coordination of imaging, referrals, and hospital-related documentation when needed.
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety guidelines to maintain a compliant clinical environment.
Assist with scanning, filing, and other administrative or clinical support duties as assigned.
Support office opening and closing responsibilities as needed.
Promote a professional, compassionate, and patient-focused environment at all times.
