About The Position

An onsite employee health center located within the San Francisco offices of a leading financial services firm is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant with strong, current phlebotomy skills. In this position, you will support patient care, specimen collection, clinical documentation, referrals, and daily clinic operations. The role is well suited for someone who values an organized workplace, attentive patient interactions, and greater control over their weekly schedule. The clinic provides employees with convenient access to wellness visits, preventive services, vaccinations, health screenings, minor illness care, and follow-up coordination.

Requirements

• Current California Medical Assistant certification or another applicable clinical credential.
• Current and regular hands-on phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to perform venipuncture confidently and independently.
• Active BLS or ACLS certification (CPR certification).
• Experience in an outpatient clinic, medical office, employee health center, or comparable patient-care setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and standard clinical workflows.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Professional demeanor and excellent bedside manner.
• Reliable ability to commute to downtown San Francisco.
• Recent venipuncture experience is an essential qualification. Candidates who have not performed blood draws recently or cannot complete them independently will not be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with patient scheduling, referral coordination, insurance verification, or medical front-office responsibilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and create a professional, supportive experience.
• Complete patient intake, obtain vital signs, and document initial concerns.
• Prepare patients for evaluation by the clinical provider.
• Perform venipuncture and collect blood, urine, and other specimens.
• Conduct point-of-care testing and accurately record results.
• Assist with vaccinations, screenings, and preventive care services.
• Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and care instructions.
• Contact insurance carriers when coverage verification is required.
• Upload laboratory results and supporting documentation into the EMR.
• Maintain organized exam rooms, supplies, and clinical work areas.
• Follow patient privacy, infection-control, and safety procedures.
