About The Position

Students that successfully complete the Vermont State University (VTSU) Medical Assistant Training Program will be prepared to work in a Community Health Medical Assistant role that can include both clinical and administrative duties. This program will prepare Community Health employees who are interested in pursuing their career further by training them to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Once students successful complete the course, they will be able to perform as a CCMA within a Community Health clinic.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Vermont State University (VTSU) Medical Assistant Training Program.
  • Ability to perform as a CCMA within a Community Health clinic upon course completion.

  • Interest in pursuing a career as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
  • Already be a Community Health employee interested in career advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Complete 540 hours of online coursework and hands-on clinical experience within 12 months.
  • Sit for the CCMA exam upon completion.
  • Apply for an open clinical position within six months (if not already in a clinical role).
  • Meet all orientation and competency requirements.
  • Repay tuition if you withdraw early or leave Community Health within one year of completing the course.
