About The Position

This position is full-time day shift, no nights, weekends or holidays! The Medical Assistant provides clinical support to the physician and mid-level providers. The Medical Assistant provides instructions to patients as directed by the providers. The Medical Assistant is also responsible for compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA Regulations, and ensures completion of all duties vital to business operations. The Medical Assistant is a highly visible position that is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, family members, and other visitors to the office. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

  • Certified/Registered MA or CNA
  • H.S. Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patient for exam and acquires vital signs, weight, general history, and current medication list when required.
  • Provides patient care and clinical support to provider during exam, including acupuncture needle removal, application of stimulator, needle count, venipuncture, injections, and EKGs.
  • Documents all clinical findings and patient response to interventions, i.e., history, medications, vital signs, weight, and testing results.
  • Collects and provides to the provider the completed Laboratory/test findings Intake Form, and physician referral information, Diagnostic Imaging, or Cardiopulmonary test results as they are available.
  • Provides instruction to patients under the direction of the provider.
  • Maintains adequate level of supplies in exam rooms and work station.
  • Cleans and disinfects exam rooms.
  • Reports malfunction of equipment to department supervisor.
  • Provides assistance to Clerical Coordinator/Registrar as needed.
  • Assists with completion of referral process, outpatient testing, pre-certification and scheduling.
  • Timely and accurate collection/distribution of all patient information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
