About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Neurosciences is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant! This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 4:30pm. The role involves occasional floating to other departments when needed. The CERTIFIED Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Requirements

High School Diploma OR equivalency required
Certified Medical Assistant
Registered Medical Assistant
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
Certified EMT (EMT-B)
Less than a year of related experience required
Phlebotomy experience highly preferred
BLS within 90 days of hire date

Responsibilities

Performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations.

Occasional float when needed.
