About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant/LPN assists with clinical operations at our Redmond location to keep patient flow smooth and efficient while providing a high level of patient care. This role works with patients of all ages and assists with rooming patients, collecting vitals, and performing point-of-care testing associated with asthma and allergy care. Our office maintains a supportive and efficient working environment with a 2:1 CMA to provider ratio. Typically, our offices have 1-2 doctors, and each doctor sees between 14-22 patients per day. This structure ensures a balanced workload and allows for high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Current Washington State LPN or CMA license
  • Must have completed the 7 hours state mandated AIDS/HIV training program.
  • CPR/First aid for healthcare professionals card.
  • Washington state insured Medical Assistant certification or registration proof.
  • Comprehension of EMR/HER recordkeeping system for delivery of healthcare. Prior experience on Athena, Epic, GE or other system is required.
  • Self-motivation, empathy, and stellar interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
  • Enthusiasm and desire to participate as a team member and gain a variety of technical skills
  • A history of working in an outpatient setting, preferably in asthma/allergy, ENT, pediatric, or dermatology specialty offices
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successfully completing the required drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Check in patients and record vital signs, medication history, drug allergy verification, review of symptoms list.
  • Conduct preliminary test as appropriate based on the problem list or patient’s presenting symptoms.
  • Enter all data into the EMR system.
  • Perform procedures without error in a timely fashion as ordered by the provider.
  • Responsible for patient education including but not limited to medications care planning, disease process understanding, environmental controls and device teaching.
  • Document specific take home messages to the patient in the EMR system.
  • Take inventory of supplies and re-stock as needed.
  • Maintain sample medications, and printed information for patients.
  • Turn exam room to prepare for next patient.
