About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant II to join our dynamic Urgent Care team! In this role, you will work alongside experienced providers and clinical staff in a busy urgent care setting, providing high-quality care and support to patients of all ages. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, administering injections, performing venipuncture and specimen processing, conducting urinalysis and EKG testing, and assisting with in-office procedures. You will also be responsible for preparing and cleaning procedure rooms, maintaining proper infection control standards, safely disposing of biohazard and sharps waste, and ensuring clinical supplies are fully stocked and organized. As a CMA II, you will also have the opportunity to expand your clinical skillset through employer-provided training in basic radiology and IV starts, allowing for continued professional growth and development within the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Aware of standards of cleaning and performs in accordance with them
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
  • Ability to complete internally provided radiology and IV training courses within six months of hire
