About The Position

Atlantic Medical Group Endocrinology at Summit and Union is looking for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant for weekday, day-time hours. This role is responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. The Certified Medical Assistant collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. They ensure medical facilities run smoothly, and work in a clerical, administrative, or clinical capacity, and may even be asked to perform more specialized tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
  • Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
  • Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
  • Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
  • Taking vital signs: Typically performed before a patient sees a doctor to establish a baseline for future exams.
  • Assisting with examinations: Working closely with physicians to perform clinical tasks.
  • Collecting and preparing laboratory samples: Instructing patients on how to collect samples or drawing blood.
  • Greeting patients: Welcoming patients to the facility.
  • Scheduling appointments: Organizing appointments for patients.
  • Maintaining medical records: Recording patient medical histories and vital signs in the computer system.
  • Cleaning patient rooms: Sanitizing and reorganizing patient rooms between visits.
  • Prepping examination rooms: Ensuring the exam room is ready for the patient, including disinfecting equipment and stocking supplies.
  • Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  • Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
