The Certified Medical Assistant I is responsible for ensuring quality patient care by assisting physicians and other healthcare providers. This role involves greeting and escorting patients, preparing them for examinations, maintaining accurate patient records, performing vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, administering medications and injections, collecting laboratory specimens, performing blood draws, entering orders, cleaning and stocking exam rooms, providing patient information, responding to patient inquiries, assisting with scheduling, performing Nonstress Tests (NST), answering patient calls, managing medical supply inventory, ensuring patient safety, collaborating with staff, assisting in office-based surgical procedures after competency training, overseeing the orientation and training of new CMAs, assisting patients with mobility, ensuring compliance with SOPs and policies (HIPAA & OSHA), participating in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives, adhering to practice policies, and serving as a role model for the organization's mission, vision, and values. The role requires ethical behavior, professionalism, and active engagement in initiatives that promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
