The Medical Assistant I performs a variety of patient care, technical, and administrative duties to assist practitioners and other members of the health care team in providing high-quality patient care through the health care system. The Medical Assistant I participates as a team member in the overall functioning of the clinic and is responsible for the flow of the patients for assigned providers (as applicable) each day. The General Oncology Unit provides expert, specialized care for patients receiving assessment and treatment in a wide range of specialty areas, including women’s health, sarcoma, GI, THN, GU, ENT, renal melanoma, skin, endocrine, surgical and Phase 1 Clinics. Working collaboratively, team members in this unit care for both medical and surgical oncology patients, while also coordinating care and supporting patients’ families.
