About The Position

This role involves assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider). The Certified Medical Assistant will also assist with treatments ordered by a provider as supervised by a provider or registered nurse, and perform select clinical duties. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patient charts. The role also involves preparing treatment rooms for examinations, performing basic clerical duties such as answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing. Additionally, the position will handle basic materials management functions like ordering and stocking supplies, and assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment. The Medical Assistant may document the provider's encounter with patients, listing all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions. They will also transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant specializing in Registered obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Certified Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
