About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our primary care ambulatory team in Juneau, AK. This role is key to maintaining efficient clinic operations and ensuring high-quality patient care for all age groups—from pediatrics to geriatrics. The CMA will work closely with providers and lead Clinical Assistant I & II staff.
Requirements
- CMA or RMA (National Medical Assistant Certification). Nursing degree accepted as substitute.
- Minimum 1 year in a healthcare setting.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current BLS certification.
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Meditech preferred), EKG, manual defibrillators, and vital sign equipment.
- Fingerprint clearance required.
- Must be able to safely handle bloodborne exposure and lift/push up to 25 lbs or assist patients.
Responsibilities
- Room patients, collect vitals, document medical histories accurately in Meditech EMR.
- Perform lab draws, Point of Care Testing (POCT), immunizations, and other injections within scope of practice.
- Prepare equipment for routine exams and assist providers with minor office surgeries or radiology exams.
- Mentor and guide Clinical Assistant I & II staff for smooth department workflow.
- Recognize signs requiring urgent intervention and maintain a safe environment for patients.
