About The Position

This role is for a Certified Medical Assistant in the Cardiology department at Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Cardiology Group in Pensacola, FL. The position is full-time, day shift. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms. They will also assist with treatments under provider supervision, perform clinical duties, provide administrative support including managing patient records and answering calls, document provider-patient encounters, and transcribe patient orders for labs, testing, and medications.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

• 1 year of medical assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms to ensure a smooth, comfortable visit.
• Assisting with treatments as directed and supervised by the providers
• Performing select clinical duties and providing essential administrative support, including managing patient records, answering calls, and handling necessary charting.
• Documenting provider-patient encounters, meticulously listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribing patient orders for lab work, testing, and medications.
