About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to support a busy Cardiology Outpatient Clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and administrative skills, experience assisting physicians in a fast-paced outpatient setting, and proficiency with EKGs, cardiac monitoring devices, and patient triage.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• One of the following certifications required: CMA-NHA, CMA-NCCT, CMA-AAMA, RMA-AMT, RMA-NAHP, AMCA NCMA
• Minimum 2–4 years of Medical Assistant experience required
• Experience with: Vital signs and patient triage, EKG procedures, Holter monitors and event monitors, Assisting physicians in outpatient settings
• Strong computer and data entry skills required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and supplies for patient visits and procedures
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and clinical procedures
• Obtain and document patient vital signs and medical history accurately
• Perform clinical procedures after competency validation, including: EKGs, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), Audiometry, Titmus testing, Urine Drug Screening (UDS), Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT), Phlebotomy
• Apply and monitor Holter and event monitors as directed
• Triage patient phone calls and communicate patient concerns appropriately
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within office systems
• Support front office functions including billing and collections processes as needed
• Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations
• Deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive patient care to diverse populations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment
