About The Position

GryphClaw Customs is a young company with a lot of momentum. Our goal is to become a powerhouse in classic car restoration and a trusted dealer for late-model vehicles. Currently, we are in an exciting "building phase"—scaling our operations, maintaining a diverse fleet of equipment, and engineering custom, state-of-the-art mobile camera systems. We are looking for a Certified Lead Mechanic who takes pride in being a true master of the trade. We need someone with the "all-engine" expertise to handle high-level diagnostics on a truck one hour and apply those same elite skills to specialized equipment like tractors or mowers. If it has a motor, we want your hands on it.

Requirements

  • Certified Automotive Mechanic (ASE or equivalent)
  • Deep understanding of engines, transmissions, and 12V/24V electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in welding (MIG/TIG).
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams or blueprints to build, reinforce, or modify structural components.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding shop environment.
  • Communication skills to coordinate effectively with the rest of the team.
  • Sharp eye for detail and the drive to help build the company.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in classic car restoration.
  • Experience engineering custom, state-of-the-art mobile camera systems.
  • Experience with specialized equipment like tractors or mowers.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and repairing everything in our inventory: trucks, modern cars, tractors, and lawn mowers.
  • Handling engine and transmission work, suspension, brakes, and precision preventative maintenance.
  • Organizing tools, managing parts inventory, and setting up workflows for a smooth-running shop.
  • Performing rust removal, body and panel prep, and sourcing parts for vehicle projects.
  • Utilizing welding and fabrication skills to build components for vehicle projects and custom camera systems.
  • Wiring and assembling surveillance units.
  • Ensuring the highest safety standards, maintaining accurate records, and keeping the workspace in a condition that reflects the quality of the brand.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay that respects certifications and years in the shop.
  • Opportunity to be a foundational member of the team.
  • Work on unique, rewarding projects that require a high level of problem-solving.
  • Satisfaction of helping build a custom shop from the ground up.
