About The Position

As a Lifeguard, you will operate waterslides by enforcing state rules and regulations and help maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary pool/waterpark area while ensuring all safety equipment is present at and around the pool area at all times. This is a seasonal position that will start May 2026. It is the responsibility of the applicant to have and/or obtain a valid lifeguard certification prior to their first day of employment. The certification must remain valid through the entire season (season ends September 30, 2026). This is a seasonal position that may require flexible scheduling availability.

Requirements

  • Valid Lifeguard Certification (required)
  • Employees must obtain their own lifeguard certification before starting employment
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The number of hours you will be scheduled to work during the week is variable and is based on guest occupancy, season, staffing and other factors.

Responsibilities

  • Operate water slides by enforcing safety rules and regulations for water slides and discharge lanes
  • Complete all daily water slide inspections/reports as required by the state
  • Complete opening tasks such as cabana set up, removal of pool robot vacuum, pool deck checks, etc.
  • Supervise guests' behavior on the water slides, water splay structure, and surrounding areas
  • Document as required by state and local regulations
  • Ensure all posted pool rules are being adhered to
  • Maintain pool area cleanliness
  • Complete closing tasks, such as sweeping the pool deck, cleaning cabans, straightening the pool furniture, taking out trash, etc.
  • Ensure state capacity is not exceeded
  • Ensure safety equipment is present and in working order
  • Check the first aid kit for needed supplies on a daily basis
