About The Position

Alameda Elder Services [https://www.aecliving.com/aes-therapy-fitness/] is currently seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team full-time in Alameda, California. As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist in providing high-quality physical therapy services to our patients. The PTA will work with a group of patients with varying needs and conditions. Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time, hourly position with a compensation range of $37 to $42 per hour (DOE). About Us: Alameda Elder Services is a wellness, rehabilitation, and fitness center that has been specially designed for seniors. It is both a Medicare licensed Outpatient Rehabilitation Agency and a Fitness Center that provides wellness and strengthening programs at an affordable cost. We have two locations in Alameda (Webster Street and Island Drive) and the PTA position will work in both locations.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • Current and valid PTA license in the state of California
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of and experience with various therapy techniques and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Fingerprint clearance from the FBI and DOJ

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed physical therapist in evaluating patient's condition, assessing progress, and developing a treatment plan
  • Assist in implementing treatment plans that include exercise, massage, and other therapeutic techniques
  • Document patient progress and communicate updates to the treating physical therapist
  • Educate patients and families on proper techniques and exercises to facilitate recovery and prevent further injury
  • Maintain a clean and organized therapy area and monitor equipment inventory
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the patient receives well-rounded care
  • Stay current with developments in the field of physical therapy and attend continuing education courses as needed
