About The Position

New York Preschool & Kids Club is seeking a dedicated Certified Lead Preschool Teacher to join their mission of providing New York City’s youngest learners with a joyful, solid foundation for lifelong learning. The role involves leading an inclusive, nurturing classroom for 2, 3, or 4-year-olds, utilizing the Tools of the Mind Curriculum to guide students through intentional play. The teacher will foster a culture that promotes inquiry, independence, and social-emotional intelligence, inspiring children to become lifelong learners.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in ECE or a related field required
A NYS Early Childhood Initial or Permanent Certification (B-2 or 1-6) required
2+ years of lead teaching experience in Pre-K (2-4 year olds) or Kindergarten.
Must be a passionate teacher and lifelong learner.
Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

Responsibilities

Use the Tools of the Mind Curriculum to build engaging, play-based, experiential lessons that spark curiosity in preschoolers ages 2, 3, or 4.
Ensure every student’s health and safety is the top priority.
Maintain a "safe-to-fail" environment where children feel secure enough to take risks and explore their world.
Support the whole child - physically, cognitively, and emotionally.
Help children navigate big feelings and big milestones.
Build trust with parents and caregivers through daily updates, sharing the successes and challenges of their child’s day, and building a bridge between school and home.
Translate the Creative Curriculum or Tools of the Mind Curriculum into vibrant, daily experiences that spark genuine curiosity and "lightbulb" moments.
Be a steady, inspiring presence within the NYPKC community at the location.
Work seamlessly with the Head of School and other instructors to maintain the highest standards of safety and collaboration.
