About The Position

This role requires travel to AdventHealth Orlando, AdventHealth Winter Park, AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, AdventHealth Winter Garden, and AdventHealth Celebration. Participates in community education opportunities regarding breastfeeding, research projects, speaking engagements, and other company committees. Keeps supplies clean and orderly according to policy and reports any needed supplies or educational materials to the supervisor. Works in various lactation centers, providing private consultations, answering the breastfeeding help line, facilitating weekly mother/baby luncheons, and selling breastfeeding products. Plans and presents prenatal breastfeeding classes, collects evaluations, and makes necessary changes to improve classes. Provides accurate and consistent information to clients and patients regarding breastfeeding and company policies and procedures. Attends staff meetings and seminars to stay updated on the latest research and shares information with colleagues and staff.

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) [Required]

Nice To Haves

  • Skilled in teaching adults and adolescents
  • Skill and proficiency in applying highly technical principles, concepts, and techniques that are central to the profession
  • Skill in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for the breastfeeding mother and baby acquired through 1-2 years of experience as a lactation consultant
  • Current research information regarding Breastfeeding
  • Maternity nursing and Newborn nursing knowledge
  • Additional languages preferred, especially Spanish
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
  • 1+ acute care hospital [Preferred]
  • 2+ maternity or newborn experience [Preferred]
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Preferred]
  • Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC) [Preferred]
