About The Position

Ascension St. Vincent Fishers is seeking a Certified Lactation Consultant IBCLC for their Patient Education department. This PRN position involves assessing and tailoring individualized clinical lactation plans, educating new parents on breastfeeding techniques, collaborating with nursing staff and physicians, designing patient education programs, and analyzing clinical outcomes to improve care delivery.

Requirements

Certification specializing in Lactation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

2 years previous experience as an IBCLC in a hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities

Assess and tailor individualized clinical lactation plans to help mothers and infants achieve their unique breastfeeding goals safely and confidently.
Educate and empower new parents by demonstrating evidence-based techniques that promote the long-term health and developmental benefits of breastfeeding.
Collaborate and consult as the dedicated clinical expert, partnering seamlessly with nursing staff and physicians to ensure a unified approach to patient care.
Design and refine standardized patient education programs that elevate the quality of lactation support across the entire unit.
Analyze and optimize clinical outcomes by contributing to data-driven tools that continuously improve our delivery of care.
