About The Position
Nelbud is seeking experienced Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning (KEC) professionals to join our Lexington-area team, supported by our Louisville branch. This is not an entry-level position; we are looking for technicians with industry knowledge ready for an opportunity with salary plus commission, strong earning potential, and advancement possibilities. Qualified candidates may be hired at different levels within Nelbud’s KEC career structure based on their experience and qualifications. For over 40 years, Nelbud has provided commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning, fire protection, grease management, and related services. Requirements
- Previous professional kitchen exhaust cleaning experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial KEC equipment, processes, and safety requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor and work at heights
- Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work overnight and varying schedules
- Reliable, dependable, and professional
- Strong commitment to quality and safety
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Already certified in commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning
- Hold an active Boston certification, Massachusetts certification, or both
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, ductwork, and exhaust fans
- Remove grease buildup using pressure washers and specialized cleaning equipment
- Perform rooftop and ladder work as part of a field-based crew
- Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and applicable KEC requirements
- Identify service needs and communicate findings appropriately
- Deliver dependable, professional service to customers
- Support crew operations, training, and successful job completion based on experience and level
- Identify appropriate service opportunities and contribute to customer relationships
