About The Position
Indoor Science, an Aftermath Services company, is a 20+ year old industrial hygiene and indoor air quality consulting firm located in the Chicago area. We are seeking a Certified Industrial Hygienist to join our growing team. This role will involve tackling complex projects such as asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, and unique investigations requiring problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Active CIH strongly preferred, or actively working towards CIH certification (exam scheduled or in progress).
- Illinois Asbestos Inspector and Air Sampling licenses, or ability to obtain them shortly after hire.
- Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational/Environmental Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology.
- Comfort with client interaction, project scoping, and relationship building.
- Willingness to travel regionally (50%+) and be based in the Chicagoland area.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations for indoor air quality, mold/moisture intrusion, asbestos, and lead across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
- Design sampling strategies, interpret results, and write client-ready reports.
- Serve as a technical advisor to clients, including property owners, facility managers, contractors, and insurers.
- Undertake unique projects requiring creative problem-solving.
- Approve technical work completed by junior team members.
