About The Position

ProSidian is hiring a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) / Safety Professional to provide construction and industrial-hygiene support at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site near Aiken, South Carolina. The role supports Savannah River Mission Completion and works within a DOE/SRMC nuclear-site environment. The position is described as a labor-hour subcontract or contract W-2 (IRS-1099) position, with the possibility of conversion to a full-time ProSidian-employed W-2 position. The tentative start date is November 9, 2026, and the estimated contract duration is approximately six months, on a 5/10 schedule. The role develops and oversees industrial-hygiene monitoring plans, exposure-control strategies, air-monitoring activities, respiratory-protection support, and related compliance documentation. It establishes the project’s IH monitoring plan and records structure, identifies work activities requiring exposure monitoring or respiratory controls, reviews sampling data and trends, and coordinates daily sampling and records completion with the Industrial Hygienist Technician. The position also communicates findings and controls to safety and project leadership, supports investigations, and prepares weekly and monthly IH summaries. The position provides occupational-health and construction-safety support through hazard recognition, field inspections, hazard-analysis and work-package reviews, pre-job planning, worker observations, corrective-action tracking, and compliance support. Independent CIH or CSP professional judgments must be performed by, or under the direction of, an appropriately credentialed professional. The role reports to the Certified Safety Professional / Site Project Manager and coordinates functionally with the Corporate Safety Director. It has authority to define IH monitoring requirements, recommend exposure controls, require additional sampling or protective measures, and escalate IH risks. The work requires disciplined records management and traceability in a nuclear-site environment. Communications, decisions, and direction must be documented through approved channels and stored in designated locations. Safety, quality, access, security, and compliance concerns must be escalated through the established chain of command. The role uses Microsoft 365 tools and project reporting systems to maintain plans, exposure records, sampling summaries, respiratory-protection documentation support, and dashboard inputs.
