Requirements

  • Current CNA certificate required (Oregon).
  • Current CNA certificate or NAR license (Nursing Assistant Registered) required (Washington).
  • BLS for Provider certificate from the American Heart Association required.
  • If performing phlebotomy tasks (capillary or venous blood draws), those who perform this job in the State of Washington must be a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist.

Nice To Haves

  • An NAR-licensed CHT has 120 days to obtain the CNA certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Providing and documenting care that supports patients' activities of daily living.
  • Assisting with personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Maintaining a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
  • Practicing basic infection control procedures.
  • Ensuring adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
  • Recognizing and responding appropriately to emergencies.
  • Delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining respect for patient dignity, autonomy, and individual routines.
