This role involves visits to homes, to participants of the LIFE program. The organization offers mileage reimbursement for distances driven. The Certified Home Health Aide maintains a working relationship with various healthcare professionals, administrative staff, outside vendors, caregivers, family members, and building staff. They also maintain a professional relationship with residents, ensuring their privacy, dignity, and independence. The role requires a full understanding of fire, emergency, and safety procedures, adherence to infection control policies, and awareness of the hazards associated with oxygen use. Frequent close communication with the medication assistant, LPN, and RN is essential. The aide provides direct personal care, including bathing, oral hygiene, hair care, ostomy care, and incontinence management. They are responsible for taking and recording vital signs, providing ambulation and transfer assistance, and reporting any changes in resident status or incidents immediately. Additionally, the aide delivers supplies, performs light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, and laundry assistance, and ensures the cleanliness of common areas and offices. They also assist residents with meal preparation and service, and report any unsafe equipment. The position requires adherence to facility guidelines and governing regulations, and may involve other assigned duties.
