Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) is New Jersey’s first public charter school for students in middle school and high school that provides them with the unique opportunity to pursue one of four STEAM pathways (Health Sciences, Digital Media, Audio Engineering and Cisco Computer Networking). Students can have access to a program that allows them to earn up to 60 college credits, NOCTI credentials and workplace training. AECP is determined to ensure that students can enhance their journey through high school and graduate with content mastery, skills, and experiences that are essential to the current marketplace and the world beyond. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and families in a school setting, be able to provide support to students with various needs, and coordinate with teachers and other school staff to ensure that students receive the best possible support. As the Social Worker of a Child Study Team they will serve students enrolled at CCSP. This role involves providing evaluation and determination services in accordance with New Jersey State Code and Guidelines, including case management for the IEP/504 creation process. The Social Worker will conduct social assessments and reports, coordinate assessments and evaluations to determine student needs, and conduct meetings during school hours. Support for SEMI reporting and related services is also a key responsibility. The position requires attending Assessment Plan meetings, completing social assessments and reports for the Child Study Team Manager, and maintaining a caseload in compliance with state timelines and guidance. Case management responsibilities, attending Eligibility Conference meetings, and working in compliance with Catapult Learning Policy and Procedure manual for Evaluation and Determination services in New Jersey are also part of the role. The candidate must possess expert knowledge in NJ Code and procedures regarding student services and accommodations, counsel students with IEPs, support the attendance team, screen for signs of trauma, and counsel students with trauma and other mental health needs. Additional responsibilities include working closely with school administration, teachers, and staff to identify students needing support, developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), providing support for behavioral, emotional, and academic challenges, facilitating communication between school staff, families, and community resources, providing crisis intervention, and maintaining accurate student records. Attendance at required meetings and trainings is also expected.
