Certified High School Math Teacher
About The Position
Village Academy, located within Village Behavioral Health in Louisville, TN, is seeking a Certified High School Math Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. This position serves students in a structured, therapeutic educational setting and requires a highly skilled educator committed to supporting students with diverse academic and behavioral needs. This is a salaried position starting at: $55,000 a year. The Math Teacher is responsible for delivering standards-based instruction aligned with Tennessee state standards while supporting students in a residential treatment environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong classroom management, flexibility, and a commitment to individualized instruction.
Requirements
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with high school math endorsement
- Experience teaching secondary math content
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and progress monitoring
- Ability to maintain a structured, consistent classroom environment
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field which is eligible for teacher certification or license within the state where the facility is located is required.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- Must be knowledgeable of the developmental stages and behaviors for age group of students.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in alternative, special education, or therapeutic settings
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and behavioral supports
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- One or more years’ experience working with population of the facility preferred.
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
