The Certified Hemodialysis Technician, under the direction and supervision of the Dialysis Nurse, assists with providing care and delegates activities of treatment to patients with renal failure. This role involves assisting with clinical and operational procedures to improve patient health, demonstrating effective use of supplies and staff labor hours, and obtaining blood samples. The technician will provide patient education as directed, perform assigned duties to meet patient care and operational needs, and follow all company policies and procedures regarding safety, equipment, and patient care. This includes setting up hemodialysis machines, responding to alarms, cleaning stations, and monitoring patients during treatments. The role also requires maintaining supplies, conducting water testing, documenting quality control, and reporting any significant changes in patient condition or machine problems. Participation in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education is expected, along with promoting a team environment and adhering to the attendance policy.
