About The Position

JCC Greater Boston is seeking a Certified Floater Teacher to support the daily operations of the Gilson Early Learning Center in Sharon, MA. This role involves assisting with a comprehensive curriculum focused on children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The Floater Teacher will work as part of a dynamic team, engaging in innovative teaching within a family-friendly environment that features excellent indoor and outdoor spaces. This position is for a 10-month school year (September-June) and requires EEC certification. The current rate is $21.00-$22.00 per hour for 35 hours per week. JCC Greater Boston also has openings for part-time Floater Teachers with multiple shift options.

Requirements

  • EEC Certification
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC’s discretion to meet minimum criteria.
  • A love of children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
  • Strong organizational skills, including teamwork, relationship-building skills, the ability to multitask, the ability to manage situations effectively and diplomatically
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with families, co-workers, ELC leadership, and JCCGB colleagues
  • Commitment to create and foster a dynamic environment where play and learning are a top priority
  • Computer literate

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and take risks
  • In partnership with Early Learning Center Directors and peers, co-create a collaborative, dynamic, positive, and innovative classroom culture
  • Work in partnership with JCC leadership and other departments to support JCC Greater Boston organizational goals and model JCC values
  • Partner and communicate with families to ensure the best care and education for the children
  • Partner with JCC classroom teachers
  • Adhere to all EEC regulations and guidelines
