A certified orthotic fitter is a health care professional who is specifically educated and trained in the provision of certain off the shelf or prefabricated orthoses prescribed by a physician. In addition, a certified orthotic fitter will be required to be proficient in patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, and provide patient instructions.
