About The Position

The Pines at Davidson is seeking a dynamic and experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to oversee and manage its dietary department. This is a leadership role focused on operations, team coordination, and ensuring excellence in food service delivery, rather than a clinical position. The CDM will foster a culture of service excellence, anticipate and respond to resident needs, and ensure the daily nutritional needs of residents are met with safe, palatable, and appropriate food. Coordination with nursing services, sanitation, and proper food handling are essential. Requirements

  • 4+ years of food service management experience in a Healthcare Setting required.
  • Ability to actively look for ways to help people, to adjust actions in relation to others' actions, and to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.

  • Sensory requirements: Write, keyboarding, speak on phone and in person, speak to large groups, read computer monitor, hear spoken questions and comments in person, on phone and in large groups.
  • Work performed in an indoor setting with occasional walking outdoors to various campus locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred.
  • Food or Hospitality Training in vocational school or a college degree.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the dietary department.
  • Ensure daily nutritional needs of residents are met with safe, palatable, and appropriate food.
  • Coordinate between dietary services and nursing services.
  • Ensure sanitation and proper food handling.

  • Perform job duties and responsibilities in a manner that reflects the highest ethical and professional standards.
  • Manage food service operations.
  • Handle communications & marketing related to the department.
  • Manage account administration.
  • Manage contract administration & compliance.
  • Administer meal plans.
  • Manage meal equivalency and associated payment programs.
  • Implement & coordinate dining-related construction projects.
  • Responsible for resident & employee satisfaction.
  • Coordinate assignments of cooking personnel to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation.
  • Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.
  • Maintain food and equipment inventories, and keep inventory records.
  • Monitor budgets and payroll records, and review financial transactions.
  • Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance.
  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and presentation.
  • Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking product quality and quantity.
  • Schedule staff hours and assign duties.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
