Cooper Norcross University Hospital•Camden, NJ
•$18 - $29

About The Position

The Critical Care Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) to assist patients with activities of daily living and support their overall plan of care. The role includes direct communication with and support for the healthcare team, patients, and their families or significant others. The technician is expected to maintain high standards of professional ethics and contribute to quality patient care. The position is on Kelemen 10, a medical-surgical unit caring for patients with varied needs and disease processes. North and South 10 have telemetry capabilities. Each unit has 36 patient beds and two hallway areas, for a maximum capacity of 76 patients. South 10 also includes a 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit, typically with no more than 12 patients, staffed by critical-care-trained RNs and providing care for ventilated patients. The unit has two negative-pressure isolation rooms with an anteroom for specific isolation needs. Multidisciplinary rounds take place Monday through Friday, and a pharmacist with an office on the unit supports RNs to help prevent delays in care. This is a part-time night position, 24 hours per week, with shifts from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. and a weekend and holiday rotation.
