About The Position

Provide counseling services for clients with substance use and/or mental health diagnosis according to best practice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Provide individual, group, and family counseling services for clients with substance use and/or co-occurring mental health disorders in accordance with state, agency, and best-practice guidelines. · Facilitate psychoeducation, relapse prevention, recovery skills development, and family involvement in treatment, with client consent. · Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including psychosocial assessments and ASAM multidimensional assessments, and develop ASAM Level of Care recommendations as appropriate to licensure. · Develop, implement, and update individualized, person-centered treatment and/or service plans prior to or on the date of service. · Monitor client progress through ongoing assessment and reassessment; update and revise treatment plans as clinically indicated. · Manage all aspects of a client caseload from admission through discharge, including transitions and aftercare planning. · Monitor signs and symptoms of substance intoxication and withdrawal and provide appropriate intervention and coordination of care. · Provide crisis intervention and clinical consultation as needed, including after-hours phone consultation and participation in on-call rotation, when applicable. · Coordinate and ensure linkage to medically necessary services, including MAT, psychiatric, psychological, medical, and community-based resources. · Submit service authorizations and ensure continuity of care across providers and systems. · Provide referrals and coordination for substance use disorder treatment and recovery resources. · Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with state, agency, and federal requirements. · Complete required reporting, including NC TOPPS, GPRA, and incident reports, in accordance with established guidelines. · Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case staffing, clinical supervision, and coordination with the Clinical Director and medical providers as appropriate. · Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities, including peer review and timely resolution of out-of-compliance items. · Facilitate training and supervision activities for interns and/or trainees as assigned. · Administer medications and conduct UDS screenings as required and within scope of training and licensure. · Adhere to professional standards, ethical guidelines, governing board requirements, and all applicable policies and procedures. · Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • CADC is preferred. CADC-I or CADCR
  • Minimum of two years of counseling experience.
  • Valid NC or SC Driver’s License.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Pleasant personality and professional demeanor.
  • Strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • A concentration in substance use disorder treatment and mental health treatment is preferred.
