About The Position
MedLink Georgia is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) to join our Revenue Cycle team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures to support optimal reimbursement and compliance with federal regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P) or AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is required
- 12 months coding/chart review or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in podiatry or orthopedics (foot and ankle) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Accurately code all diagnoses and procedures for medical encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Review clinical documentation to ensure coding reflects the level of service provided.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation and ensure coding accuracy.
- Conduct audits and assist with coding compliance reviews.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations.
- Support the billing department in resolving coding-related denials and claim issues.
