About The Position
Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is looking for a customer-focused Certified Coding Specialist to join their team. In this role, the specialist will facilitate proper medical coding for specialties such as Pediatrics, Hematology Oncology, Behavioral Health and Neurology.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One of the following certifications is required: AAPC (CPC), PMIC (CMC), AHIMA (CCS-P).
- 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Reviews warnings/errors in EPIC that are triggered due to inappropriate codes.
- Maintains complete knowledge and complies with all relevant insurance, CPT coding and diagnosis guidelines.
- Verifies provider chosen codes for non-invasive procedures.
- Maintains query communication with providers to ensure timely notification of identified documentation issues that may impact revenue or compliance.
