About The Position
The Certified Coder is responsible for coding and abstracting physician billing using software and coding books, based on the current work assignment. After the initial training period, the position allows flexibility to work remotely, with on-site work required as needed based on the hiring department’s needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) required.
- Ability to collaborate with others in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of coding experience preferred.
- Surgery coding experience preferred, including Cardiology.
- Previous experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred.
