Requirements

  • Strong foundation in medical coding principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ICD-10, CPT, E&M and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Must be located in the state of Montana.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing Preliminary and Held for Billing status visit notes in EMA.
  • Accurately coding or correcting ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes in compliance with payer guidelines and contracts, ensuring prompt billing for both the facility and the surgeons' professional fees.
  • Performing routine audits.
  • Providing essential training to physicians and staff on ICD-10 coding compliance and documentation guidelines.
