About The Position

SOUTHLAND is currently seeking experienced Class 2S Driver Instructors to join our team. The Driver Instructor is responsible for the effective training of new employees and the continued education of current drivers. In-house training is provided as per the programs, policies and guidelines of SOUTHLAND’s Training Department. This position requires an ability to communicate well with tact and diplomacy in confidential matters. Training takes place Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Class 1 or 2 driver's license with “S” endorsement required
• Knowledge of Highway Traffic Act and Emergency Procedures
• Class 2S Instructor Certification
• Clear 10-year commercial drivers abstract
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Responsibilities

• Classroom sessions for new trainees
• Daily assessment of driving skills
• On-the-road evaluations
• Utilize TrackIt for training progress
• Be accessible to drivers with any questions or concerns they may have with Training & Development as well as help to develop skills as a School Bus Driver
• Drive any school route that needs to be covered

Benefits

• $1,000 hiring bonus for existing licensed 2S Instructors! Receive $500 following 3 months of employment in the training department and the remaining $500 following 9 months of employment.
