About The Position

Our Certified Caregivers (CNA's) provide non-medical home care services to clients of Griswold Home Care. Responsibilities include performing tasks and activities in the client's residence as detailed on the Client Requested Services care plan, preparing simple meals, and assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, ambulating or transferring, meal preparation or assisting with eating, and driving clients to appointments or errands. Companionship/sitter tasks may include walking, exercising, reading, visiting, talking, game playing, and puzzles. Other tasks may include safety supervision, medication reminders, laundry, light housekeeping, and shopping. Caregivers must report changes in client's condition to the Agency office and arrive at work in a clean, well-groomed appearance.

Requirements

  • Language and literacy skills are adequate to communication needs and requests of the client
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from a client’s home
  • For cases requiring transportation, must have a valid driver’s license, state minimum required liability insurance coverage, and positive driving record
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and alternate from stationary to traverse positions often and for extended periods of time
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be able to understand the problems of elderly persons and persons with disabilities.
  • Must be able to read care plan
  • Criminal Background Clearance
  • TB clearance according to Griswold policy
  • At least 3 satisfactory references or employment verifications
