The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) will perform under the clinical supervision of a supervisor assigned by the MTF Director. The supervisor is responsible for the care rendered by the ATC. The ATC will actively consult with their supervisor and provide a full range of direct prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services. They will also technically direct students from various programs, providing instruction in injury assessments, rehabilitation, and the utilization of modalities, equipment, braces, and treatment protocols. The role involves providing instruction and services in applied anatomy, physiology of exercise, kinesiology, and biomechanics. Additionally, the ATC will provide training and guidance to supporting employees during rehabilitative procedures, ensuring accuracy of treatment documentation and reporting, and assisting with inventory and maintenance of medical supplies. The ATC will also utilize a public health model to assist in designing physical readiness programs, including determining injury problems, identifying causes, preventing injuries, recommending strategies, and monitoring effectiveness. Documentation of all assessments, treatments, and follow-up care is required daily, either through written reports or computerized means. The ATC will provide consultation to and from medical providers within the Physical Therapy Clinic and perform administrative duties such as maintaining statistical records, participating in education programs and research, preparing documentation for medical boards, and participating in quality assurance functions. Clerical and scheduling duties in support of patient care and clinic operations may also be performed.
