About The Position

Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer in Kent County, Delaware. The company aims to be the regional leader in sports medicine, emphasizing a team approach and rewarding clinical excellence. Athletic Trainers are integral to this mission, leading collaboration within the sports medicine team and receiving unparalleled clinical support. They also play a critical role in educating physical therapy sports residents, contributing to one of Delaware's few fully accredited sports residency programs. Founded in 2007, Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Performance has ten centers across Delaware and provides Athletic Training outreach to eight high schools, jockeys at Delaware Park, and numerous youth sports organizations.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a NATA-BOC Certified Athletic Trainer in the state of Delaware or license eligible.
  • Full-time Certified Athletic Trainer of any level of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients to develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluation results.
  • Review physician's referral (prescription), patient's condition, and medical records to determine required physical therapy treatment.
  • Provide direct patient care according to established protocols and patient care guidelines.
  • Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
  • Oversee patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
  • Complete a written plan of care, develop goals based on evaluation findings, and create a comprehensive program to achieve goals.
  • Implement physical therapy treatment programs and provide essential physical therapy treatments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies.
  • Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.
