About The Position

LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking qualified professionals to support the 125th Special Tactics Squadron (125 STS) Human Performance Program in Portland, Oregon. The program provides an integrated approach to injury prevention, rehabilitation, human performance optimization, consultation, assessment, and reporting for Air Force Special Warfare operators. The mission is to improve readiness, reduce injury and lost duty time, and sustain operator performance. The Certified Athletic Trainer will provide injury prevention, evaluation, acute care, rehabilitation support, and performance-readiness services to 125 STS tactical athletes.

Requirements

  • Degree from an athletic training education program meeting applicable professional accreditation requirements.
  • Current Board of Certification (BOC) credential as an Athletic Trainer.
  • Current Oregon athletic trainer license, registration, or other authorization required to practice in Oregon, or ability to obtain it before beginning performance.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to provide documentation of degrees, licenses, credentials, and certifications for Government review.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance and meet installation/CAC eligibility requirements. U.S. Citizenship is required for a SECRET security clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site in Portland, Oregon. Telework is not authorized.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Special Operations Forces, military tactical athletes, collegiate/professional athletes, or comparable high-performance populations.
  • Experience in injury prevention, rehabilitation, return-to-duty programming, and performance assessment.
  • Experience working in an integrated human performance, sports medicine, or POTFF environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training services including injury screening, evaluation, prevention, treatment, rehabilitation support, and operator education within the applicable scope of practice.
  • Identify musculoskeletal injury risks and implement targeted injury-mitigation and pre-habilitation strategies.
  • Coordinate closely with the Physical Therapist, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, mental health provider, and Government medical staff.
  • Support operator return-to-duty progression and communicate relevant functional status within applicable privacy and clinical requirements.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of rehabilitation/pre-habilitation protocols and injury-related program reporting.
  • Work as part of an integrated Human Performance Program supporting Air Force Special Warfare operators.
  • Conduct and document discipline-appropriate operator assessments and contribute to individualized performance, rehabilitation, or care plans.
  • Coordinate with other Human Performance Program staff and Government medical personnel to support integrated operator care and return-to-duty objectives.
  • Document individual service encounters and provide required program data in accordance with contract timelines and Government procedures.
  • Participate in weekly care coordination meetings and monthly program status meetings, as required.
  • Support initial and annual follow-up physical and mental performance assessments and provide individual feedback within the scope of the position.
  • Contribute to program reporting, assessment analysis, protocol development, and continuous program improvement.
  • Protect personally identifiable and health-related information and comply with applicable DoD, Air Force, installation, safety, security, and information-protection requirements.
  • Maintain Government-furnished equipment and work areas within the employee's assigned scope and promptly identify equipment or safety concerns.
  • Adjust work schedules as required to support quarterly Regularly Scheduled Drills (RSDs), annual training, and mission requirements.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
