About The Position

The Certified Athletic Trainer (AT) - PRN reports to the Sports Medicine Manager. The AT will provide PRN athletic trainer coverage for local affiliate high school, club, collegiate, or professional teams as well as coverage for local tournaments and community-based sports related events. Under the general supervision of the physician, physical therapist, physician assistant and or nurse practitioner.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA.
• Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC).
• Certified as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC.
• Licensure as an Athletic Trainer by the SCLLR Board of Medical Examiners.
• Must be able to adjust communication both verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age groups including school age adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Athletic Training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide PRN athletic trainer coverage for local affiliate high school, club, collegiate, or professional teams.
• Provide coverage for local tournaments and community-based sports related events.
• Adjust communication both verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age groups including school age adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
• Cover practices, games, tournaments, and special events during weekend and evening hours.
