About The Position

NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a passionate Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide care for our athletes and industrial personnel. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with college athletes and provide services in an outpatient rehabilitation clinic. The athletic trainer will provide injury evaluations, treatment, and preventative care to Anoka-Ramsey Community College athletes in the afternoons and evenings. This includes weekday athletic training room duties as well as home game coverage. Roster sizes and number of teams allow for great work-life balance and quality patient care dynamics. This position will also provide on-site injury prevention coverage at Life Fitness in Anoka, MN. This unique split position allows an athletic trainer to have experience in two settings and provides versatility to the position.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree
• National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA-BOC) Board of Certification
• CPR certification
• Applicable state license where required

Responsibilities

• Design and implement specific therapeutic programs for injured athletes’ rehabilitation
• Determine the need for and administer proper athletic training techniques before and during games/practices to decrease risk of injury (techniques can include taping, wrapping, bracing, proper hydration and minor wound care)
• Determine the effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record change as indicated by athlete response within limits of specified plan of care
• Manage emergency incidents, coordinate EMS and acute care procedures including basic life support to reduce the impact on function of an injured athlete.
• Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events to promote the company (races, club teams, etc.)
