This Full-Time Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) role supports the Newport Orthopedic Institute Human Performance and Sports Medicine Program (HPSM). Primarily a 10-month position within Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD), with potential for year-round opportunities. The ATC will provide hands-on athletic training services to various NMUSD athletic teams. The ideal candidate must be capable of independent work, multitasking, teamwork, and possess strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities
- Providing athletic training services for NMUSD
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized athletic training space and clinical areas
- Understanding and executing the referral protocol to providers for injuries
- Managing budget, inventory, and necessary supplies for the training room
- Performing primary and secondary surveys/evaluations of athletic-related injuries
- Maintaining medical documentation of student athletic-related injuries
- Ensuring confidentiality of all documentation
- Providing game and event medical coverage, including preparation and remaining after events as appropriate
- Counseling athletes on athletic-related injuries, assessments, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols
- Implementing and utilizing concussion care programs, including ImPACT for baseline and post-concussion protocols
- Assisting in the organization of pre- and post-participation physicals
- Supervising student athletic trainers, aides, and volunteers
- Demonstrating interpersonal skills to work effectively with athletes, coaches, staff, community, and leadership
- Providing education to athletes and the community on sports injury prevention and care
- Ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance
- Adhering to Standing Orders from NOI Physicians
- Maintaining a professional demeanor that supports the NOI brand
- Working independently, making decisions, and communicating effectively with managers, administrators, and staff
