About The Position

The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) supports outpatient musculoskeletal rehabilitation, provides injury prevention and event coverage for local high schools, and contributes to overall departmental operations. The ATC works closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech‑language pathologists, physicians, school athletic staff, and clinical support staff to ensure safe, high‑quality care across all environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE‑accredited program
  • BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in good standing
  • State AT Licensure; maintain per state practice act
  • 2 years full-time experience delivering high school outreach ATC services
  • CPR/BLS and AED certification obtained within 60 days of hire
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites
  • Strong computer scheduling and documentation within EMR, communication, organization, and multitasking skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification
  • Concussion management training or certification
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)
  • 1-3 years of experience in outpatient rehab

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort patients to treatment areas; prepare and turnover rooms and equipment for therapy sessions.
  • Support therapists with delegated tasks related to equipment and treatments/assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with therapists, front‑office staff, and providers regarding patient needs, referrals, scheduling updates, and clinical flow.
  • Perform cleaning, sanitizing and safety checks on equipment and throughout treatment area, as well as maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
  • Provide athletic training services at practices and games throughout East Grand and West Grand school districts incl. on-site injury screening and concussion management within ATC scope.
  • Participate in sports physical day(s).
  • Provide community based education on injury prevention, health, injury recovery and related topics.
  • Maintain accurate records of school‑based encounters according to FERPA/HIPAA guidelines within approved EHR.
