About The Position

Visiting Angels of Wall is seeking Certified At Home Caregivers to serve clients throughout Southern Monmouth County. As part of the nation's #1 network for at-home care, you will play a vital role in enriching the quality of life for clients and supporting their wellness according to their custom care plans. Certified At Home Caregivers work under a Registered Nurse and do not have supervisory responsibilities. This is an hourly, per-diem, non-exempt Direct Care staff position with no guaranteed minimum hours per week. Visiting Angels also provides opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer's care.

Requirements

Valid certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA), licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties
Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at scheduled times
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (e.g., background check)
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client
Ability to perform patient observation accurately and respond promptly to changing health conditions

Feel confident in physical endurance for tasks like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client

Responsibilities

Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
Planning and preparing meals with clients
Handling light housekeeping duties
Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
Accompanying and supervising clients during shopping trips
Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands
